The team has entered several Shell Eco-Marathon World Championships..

Although the competition is important to the team, the car's real value is as an educational resource tool. Each year it forms part of the university's National Science Week programme and Physics at Work programme held at the Cavendish Laboratory where thousands of school children aged 14 to 18 years attend the talks and demonstrations.

Why? Because the objective of the team is to make schools aware of the importance of hands-on experience for pupils and to put education into practice.

To make our dream come true, we will be visiting several schools this year in order to generate and motivate a general appreciation of science and technology to a wider community of pupils.
